A very good point; brain drain intra- and internationally is a challenge. Don't think just paying them better wages would solve the problem, even though, that would be the first step in right direction...

indeed that is a tragedy. how do good health professional who are trained and all stay in those regions? could it be that some trained midwives and health professionals with their childbirth delivery methods are not wide spread to be easily accessible and available to most pregnant women there? that the moms travel far for medical assistance and etc for their babies.
