As of this Summer the masjid has been under quite a bit of pressure to
close down. The lease that they had was to be terminated but was
renewed for a few additional months. This extension is about to end.
Some of
us have been trying very hard to raise money as well as find ways for
the masjid to get money through donations but now it comes down to the
individual efforts of all muslims.

The masjid is located in downtown Manhattan (by Chambers) and serves
many many muslims in the area who have no other masjid to go to. To
lose
the masjid would be to lose an arm. Please don't let this happen.

Currently the masjid needs to raise approximately $2,000,000 dollars
for a new building that they are trying to lease not far from the
current
location. Think of it like this: 2000 people donating $1000 dollars
each; OR 3000 people donating $650 each OR 6000 people donating $350
each.. and we can go on but ... There are enough of us out there to
make
this happen. If you can give up one of your pay checks or half a
paycheck, then please donate now. Don't fear the loss of the income
because
Allah in His Mercy will give it back to you ten fold.

2:245 - Who is he that will loan to Allah a beautiful loan, which Allah
will double unto his credit and multiply many times? It is Allah that
giveth (you) Want or plenty, and to Him shall be your return.
