Lead in Red Lipstick?

I just read in the news that red lipstick has a high level of lead in it and L'Oreal is a big culprit. Unfort. I loooove red lipstick. Someone told me that there's a link to the non-offenders. Anyone know where I can find it?

wow...good choice. Thus, red lipstick brings out features, pretty face. Its BCBG (bon chic & bon genre).

If you log onto Skin Deep's Cosmetic Database, you can enter the word lipstick to see the hazard ratings for the 500 varieties that they have on file. Here's the link:

I've heard that Aveda lipsticks are reasonably safe, so you may want to give them a try. Also, Eco Bella (available at health stores like Fiddleheads) makes a very natural lipstick. You might want to test it out because some of their colours are a bit strong!
