La'Riba (No Interest) Society
Yes I aspire to live in a La'Riba (No Interest) Society. Do you ??
There is consensus, even the most liberals agree, that Riba is prohibited in Islaam. It is thus to be abhored. Every believer must try his atmost not to take or pay Riba. Thus there is obligation (=Wajib=lesser Fardh) on every believer to make efforts (=Jihaad), however small it may be, to make a La'Riba Society wherever he lives. Some say Islamic State is needed where such Society shall evolve on its own as govenment policies shall pave the way for it. The present conditions in Pakistaan and UK smashes completely this false theory. Thus La'Riba societies can be made in non Islamic environments also.
Why a non Muslim be interested in such a society ? There is growing concern the world over that present Capatilist Economic System is explotive in nature and that after natural death (was it so ?) of Communist & Socialist Economic Sytems, the Islamic Economic System based on La'Riba concept provides refreshing alternative. This explains the active involvement of Christians in UK and of Hindus in Malaysia in Islamic Banking & other Islamic Financial activities.
Are you convinced ? Only convinced minds prompts other faculties to take actions. Isn't it ??
