Should Muslims join political parties or should they only work with pressure groups ?

I think that joining or supporting lobby groups is fine. Even throwing support to the candidate who may be the lesser of 2 evils is fine. But, joining politcal parties that have in their platforms unconditional support of Israel, who support measures like the patriot act, etc. is problematic.

Exactly but also other groups such as Friends of the Earth etc

By pressure groups you mean a lobbying/ civil rights organization like CAIR?
