Inshaji

Ye Bacha Kis Ka Bacha Hai?
Jo Aasmaan K Saay Taley
Yoon Sehma Sehma Betha Hai
Na Is K Sar Pe Chaya Hai
Na Saath Hi Is Ki Aaya Hai
Kahan Maa Khoi
Kaahey Baap Mara
Is ko Ty Koi Ilm Nahi
Ye Aasmaan K Saay Taley
Jo Nangey Pairoo.n Betha Hai
Na Tan Per Koi Kapra Hai
Na Pait Main Koi Roti Hai
Kiya Maa Bachoo K Bin Ja Kar
Kabhi Yoon Bhi Tanha Soti Hai
Ye Gehri Soch Main Betha Hai
Nanhi Aankhoon Main Khouf Leye
Apni Muthi Ko Benchey Howe
Ye Meri Janib Takta Hai
Main Is KI Janib Dekhti Hoon
Ik Hook Si Dill Main Uth'ti Hai
Aankhoo.n Sey Merey Askh Rawaa.n
Banhoo Main Is Ko Ley Kar Main
Seeney Main CHupana Chahti Hoon
Na Is Ko Ab Aazaar Milain
Na Dukh K Rang Hazaar Milain
Go Janma Nahi Main Nay Is Ko
Per Ye Bhi Mera Bacha Hai
Main Bhi Tu Is Ki Chaya Hoon
Ye Bhi Tu Mera Bacha Hai

So good to know that you like "aa merey piyar ki khushboo" too.

sooraj ki tarah mein chamkooN
per mujh meiN dhoop nahiN hay
jo shola bankar dehkay
mera aesa roop nahiN hay
................................... ...
MeiN raat ki aankh ka tara
Mein noor ka roshan dhara
mein jagooN jab soay
Jag saara

I am writing just from memory. So pardon the mistakes.

Of course, Ustad Amanat Ali Khan is ultimate. "Aa mere pyar ki khushbu" is one of my favs since long time. It's classic. I also love his "Mausam badla" and so many, easier to say, his each and every song. It's a shame that his son Asad Amanat Ali could not create an impact with his singing (Hamid Ali Khan too is good BTW).

Remember the one, Ai mere pyare watan, Pak watan Pak watan?

"chamakte chand"is good too. As for "Chaudvi ki raat" s Amanat Ali khan, the great sang it the best. No one can come even close. Have you heard him singing "Aa merey piyar ki khushboo...Manzil pe tujhey ponhchaaooN"?

You are absolutely correct. Though there are hardly or any of the poets who have got as much credit as they "deserve" but Inshaji is one of the ones who have got the least (as well as Juan Elia).

"Yeh baataiN jhooTi baataiN haiN' is indeed sung by Ghulam Ali beautifully. Though I am a bigger fan of Jagjit, but some of Ghulam Ali's ghazals if sung by Jagjit, can never do justice to them. A classic example is another of Inshaji's that Ghulam Ali has sung marvelously "Kal chaudvi ki raat thi". Jagjit sang it and could go no where near to Ghulam Ali.

I wonder of you have also heard his ghazal "Chamakte chand ko TooTa huwa taara bana Daala"?

Its a good idea to celebrate "Inshaji week here. Koi nah koi hungama tou hona chahiye naah
:)

Thanks for posting Insha Ji's collection. It seems to me like he doesnt get enough credit for his beautiful and unique work. What do you think about celebrating "Insha week" here next week? My fav is "yeh baateiN jhooti baatein heiN". Ghulam Ali sang it beautifully.
