I'm Sad

Tomorrow is going to be one of the most painful and difficult days that I will experience.

One of our family cats has cancer and needs to be put to sleep. The vet has decided to do this tmrw. I'm still in denial and shock. I am not ready for all these feelings that i am feeling and i am not ready for tomorrow.

We've known she has cancer for a month or so. In our way I think we all hoped that it would go away, knowing very well it wouldn't. But her conditioned has only worsened and she's all skinny and bones now and normally just sits in one place sleeping. I can't believe this is happening and i don't want her to go. She's been a part of our family for ten years. She is family. :(

I keep telling myself this is for the best and she won't be in any pain and will be in a better place but it's harder than i thought.

My sister and mom are going to take her to the vet tmrw. I don't have the courage to go with them :(

Has anyone else have had to put their cat to sleep? This has got to be one of the most difficult things any cat lover has to experience. Please remember me in your duas and please pray that I and my family will overcome this loss. JazakAllah.

Salam,
So sorry to hear about your loss. I guess this is a late response. Hope you are feeling better. We had to do something similar last year for our cat who had cancer as well. It's a really hard thing to go through. I struggled with it also, but alhamdulilah it got better. Inshallah, may your pain ease as well. It's amazing how attached we can become to animals. I never would have thought it. Hang in there!

I'm sooooo sorry to hear that sister. I had to put a stray cat to sleep a couple of weeks ago. THere was a large tabby cat that used to come around my patio begging, LOUDLY, for food. When he let me get close enuff to pet him, i noticed he had a gash on his neck from fighting and a huge tumor or s.t. on his cheek. So I took him to the local ASPCA, hoping they would b able to fix him, but the lady told me they only accept healthy cats bcuz they dont have the funding to do free surguries, etc.
I started crying so much they all thought it was my cat, not just a stray!
I actually thought about taking it back home to let it live out the rest of it's life on the streets like it was used to, but I couldn't do that. And I couldn;t take him home cuz I have too many as it is. I felt so bad.

So I can just imagine what it feels when it's ur best friend. We all know it's for the best, but it's hard. When I came home from dropping off the stray, I just hugged Black Man (my kitty)for a long time, trying not to think of the day that I'm gonna make the same desicion 4 him.

Well at least you know your cat is sick and are prepared for her death. I know it is hard and painful. I had 2 cats who died in car accidents. They got hit by cars. That was very painful knowing it wasn't their time to go and it could have been prevented. I understand your pain. Take lots of pictures of your cat and take all the pictures you have to make a scrapbook or album to remember your cat. In time, the pain will ease for you.
