how much do you bench?
I started this thread as a motivating factor for myself and others in this forum to improve on the amount they can bench (incline or flat) within the next six months.
For those who might think I am being a dic*, read the following and motivate yourself:
I have a 6 year history of shoulder instability and bicep tendon tears in both arms after working out for about 2 years with 270lbs 5reps 5 sets on the incline bench press. I lost a lot of strength because of these injuries and only recently have started to gain it back. I can finally do 180lbs 8-12reps 5 sets on incline, for the initial part of my chest workout. I am aiming for 270 by years end.

I usually just follow my idol; even though he may have a share in Muscletech, heh.
Jay's Three Nutritional Tips for Building Muscle:
1. Eat every 1? hours
2. Eat 1 gram of protein per pound of lean body mass
3. Eat 2 to 3 grams of carbs per pound of lean body mass
and the supplements he takes. www.jaycutler.com
if you start looking anything like what he looks, its money well spent!
Yes GNC is over priced but buying the stuff during the first 7 days and getting that 20% off with your gold card brings everything back to par. I like Nitro tech but like IronMonk says, natural proteins are probably better but sometimes when you're on the go, you have no choice. Personally, I used to take nitro tech after workouts and it was OK compared tot everything else but it does not supply sufficient post workout carbs which are necessary for the recovery phase. I changed my post work out drink since I started this new regimen almost 7 weeks ago. I use Mass Recovery by ABB now. That, in conjunction with the creatine, the aplodan, the anabolic pump, the salad diet, and my new workout, I have definitely been as satisfied as EVER going to the gym. And I use GNC because at least the stuff they sell goes through some sort of testing phase since they are a national franchise instead of the websites, although I definitely hit up the sites for the hard to get stuff. Anyway, everyone has their own opinions and what works for me, may not work for you, and vice versa. Thats definitely a given.
Info...and very good prices!
- Creatine : Cell-Tech ( www.muscletech.com )
- Protein : Nitro-Tech ( www.muscletech.com )
- Anator P70 ( www.muscletech.com )
MuscleTech is by far the my preferred supplement brand.

Ags: Put it this way, the GNC i buy it from is always back ordered because some guy comes in and buys everything in the store and takes it back to one of them West Indies Islands where he says people are amazed by this thing. And like I said, once I added this to my regimen, I have seen noticeable increase in mass and a DEFINITE increase in strength and its still going. I just today, completed my first 30 days on it and absolutely will keep buying it till I stop seeing gains. That being said, I have also been eating 4 grilled chicken Caesar salads a day along with 3 protein supplements for a total of 7 meals, lifting 5 intense days a week with 15 minutes of cardio at the end of each day. Yeah, I'm training hard and look forward to achieving great results.
IM: I was almost beginning to think you were normal until I heard about lockjaw....thanks for sharing...:P
kinda funny but hey it works...
BTW. Great new products out. First one called ANABOLIC PUMP by USP LABS and the second, APLODAN by MUSCLETECH. I have never experienced the massive gain in strength as well as size this quickly. I mean I have started doing some cardio as well, but this is the first time EVER that I feel a supplement actually works. I HIGHLY suggest it for anyone trying to see at least a 10 pound increase in weights lifted per week. I been taking anabolic pump for almost 6 weeks and aplodan for almost 30 days and the combo of the both is what really triggered my massive gains lately. I am lifting 10 more punds in ever exercise I do every week. I hope it continues to work. Check them out!
These hu-wt too, but I still have to buy those darn bands rather then using the ones at the gym.
Butt Exercises - Elastic Band Kickbacks
Exercise Advice: This exercise is similar to the one legged cable kickbacks except that instead of kicking your leg straight back behind you will extend it back and outward at roughly a 45 degree angle. Keeping your leg straight, smoothly kick your heel backward and away from your body at about a 45 degree angle for a distance of about 12-15 inches. Hold your leg at the top of this movement for a one-count and repeat with the opposite leg. You can use the pulley machine or surgical tubing to perform this exercise, depending on the amount of resistance your desire.
So my question is this, normal lunges have the back leg bent, but these ones the leg is straight. Does it really matter?
