How far is too far??
There seemse to be a wide range of opinions from one culture to another, and even just between people on what is an acceptable way to treat members of the opposite sex when you are in a committed relationship or just in general. Some women wont even speak to men, others wont shake hands, others go as far as hug members of the opposite sex or kiss them on the cheek...There are the extremes of both sides. We all know what is haram and what is not. But in the category of what is not haram, how far is too far? Are we allowed to compliment members of the opposite sex, email them, talk on the phone, call them terms of endearment, like babe, hon, bro, or kid. When have you cross the line? and when is it just being "nice" ....

well, in all honesty, let's put it this way,. if it was me...this is what i would do...
if they have any sense of religion, bring it from that perspective...of religion....
if they don't...i would talk about how i'm raised and morals o adab...
if they still dont buy it...then you shouldnt be hanging out with them or want to know them anyway...ahahha
but in all seriousness...if I was married and someone got too friendly, Iwould really lay into them. :D
It is a pretty deep question...
The hadiths are endless about mixing...but it becomes relative what type of situation is haram. A guy and a girl generally speaking in a secluded area alone (not mu7ram or not married) is agreed upon that is 7aram (where the devil would be the third of them (ma ijtama3a rajul wa imra2a illa kan al shaitan thalithuhuma). Then general mingling with no productive cause and wasting time is also something very commonly done now but falls into a deslikeable situation by religious standards.
I'll get into it more with seeing peoples' responses....I won't say I'm an angel nor is anyone else (Ali, will jump all over this one)....but give me some scenarios and I'll tell you from what I have learned the whys and buts and ors insha Allah......
I was just wondering, cause i always see different groups of muslims acting differently, and i just was wondering what is reeally too much?
that is all :)
