Holiday sales? Please share info.....
Any nice sales anyone is aware of? Please post here....
I am sure there are a few good deals out there but the one I am aware of for nice shirts is at Charles Tyrwhitt (NYC), which is an English designer.....a little pricey but they have some really nice shirts as well as cuff links (if you are into those).....
And no I don't get commission to post this :)

king - i agree with you on the riba part buddy but everything is on that. i don't participate nor do i endorse that but nonetheless people do that. not saying it's right or wrong.
last but not least our vp at morgan stanley "the ice which is very kool" put it very nicely - it's all about your lifestyle. if i had to do it all over, i'd be more than willing to do this starting in my early 20s and make tons and get out of this by the time i am 30. after that, i guarantee you i'd be impressing all the desi moms. who gives a damn about doctors?!
this is classic "riba"..in order for a company to raise capital...it has to work with ibanks to raise capital..so fine if these ibankers work crazy hours..they are jus pawns..
what i am upset with is tht these jerks don realize the consequences of their work...
While I am not one of them......I can tell you I don't hate nor do I envy such people either who take home fat bonuses. First of all money comes and goes....no one takes it to their grave - only baggage allowed are your deeds! Second, some of these i-bankers....they work crazy hours...have no life....heck...so they get paid also....its a life they choose......you and I can choose different lives....we don't have to be like them.... :) but as a dealmaker if you bring revenues of $100m want $10m of it....I don't find anything wrong with that.
As for secretaries....this year....some of them got $15-$25k in bonuses....which is amazing for a secretary...the fact remains that they got that because of that dealmaker above....but yes I agree such a person doesn't need to get arrogant about it :)
So anyways, we were talking about holiday sales.....thanks to zaidoo for bringing this bonus topic! LOL!! :)
I still remember a good day at CBS..when this one guy was complaining to the registerar for something...he goes to her, "i am the one paying your damned salary, I am the customer...what a fine service you are providing to your customer"....and she just looks starely at him and says..."You are not the customer...You are the product"....
so all this talk of bonus reminds me..you all are products..so save the pennies in the piggy bank..ohh better yet..put it into some euro domination account..cause pretty soon it will all be worthless..
$100 million - that's insane money. seriously that guy doesn't need to work another day in his life.
gucci's got the best shoes and ties. in the old days when i was a poor kid (i still am) i spent several hundred dollars on a pair of shoes but damn they were nice!
hermes ties are a good second
zegna suits are top..but u have to shop at their boutique store...bloomies, saks..just carry crap..
luciano barbera has good 3 buttons..
canali suits are good if ur fat...or top heavy..
most important whatever suit u get..make sure to get it altered to your shape..most people can wear a brioni but if it aint cut to your shape any jacket will look like crap..
Via Spiga is good for office and that?s IT. Prada are good for 2 hrs and then pain in the @$$ & feet, they should come with a warning, DON?T YOU DARE WALK IN ?EM. Ferragamo are like benz?s, old man shoe. Now lets talk about Hugo and your annual bonus may not be over $600k, but you will feel like a million $ man.
BR got clubbing clothes? Maybe BR has shifted its focus towards ?Express 4 Men? formally ?Structure? The do have some hizzle fo? sizzle winter coats. Check out the Chesterfield collection.
Guys in seven jeans??? How about Diesel or DKNY
I think DuChamp?s ties have the WOW factor written all over ?em. I wore one last week at a gathering and to my surprise with delight a dashingly charming lady walked 7 or maybe more like 8 yards to compliment the tie, and all I could say was, nice shoes.
I honestly feel that you can wear a shirt from Pink, Valentino, YSL, Gucci, Zegna, etc, but if you don?t got the right tie, you just wasted $100-150 on the shirt.
Isn?t it me or D& G run one size smaller than usual?
Zara clothes are like condoms, only good for one use.
Btw, some big guys get mind boggling bonuses....news is that one dealmaker at Goldman got $100m in bonus!!! Thats crazy money!
MS hasn't disclosed the total payout yet....but from wall st journal cover this morning, here are some crazy numbers. Average payout per person in each company was:
Lehman: $334k
Bear: $320k
Goldman: $622k!!!!!
Now understand these numbers are VERY skewed! Everyone didn't get that of course....just a few big guys taking a whole lot of money! LOL!! :)
But hey listen....not all money is spent on clothes :)
mr. johnny "the big mac" mack is getting $40 million in bonuses.
barneys had a decent sale on suits...zegnas for $1200 i think they would go cheaper..and of course if u wait till spring there is the barneys warehouse sale..
