How high do you rise?
when you open your eyes
with each sunrise
do you even realize
buildings touch the skies
but buried underneath are lies
some untold, some revised
some a surprise
others we ourselves devise
those speaking up chastised
others money buys
news sensationalized
our life so sanitized
none of the haunting cries
mother and child who dies
water and food world denies
actions we decriminalize
while seeking another prize
all of us materialized
breaking humanly ties
empty stares instead of ?hi?s
having no time for goodbyes
letters without replies
friends but no real allies
some we even think spies
each other we despise
but each wearing a disguise
this life we improvise
eternity of life it belies
mistakes we reprise
logic that defies
but while we get our highs
forty floors of tries
should from this we surmise?
can you please advise?
did we even open our eyes?
is it high time to realize?
are these signs of our demise?
or are we just not that wise?
wise enough to this high rise?
