Salam. I am writing to inform anyone who is a pathologist--or knows one--of a powerful and prestigious opportunity that will soon be available. It is with the government and located in Chicago. It is by political appointment and has not been made public.

I am a developer and have some political relationships. Myself and another Muslim have been given the go ahead to seek a Muslim for two high level positions. These are rare opportunities...ones that we are usually locked out of. If we can find a talented, qualified person within the community, it would help empower Muslims.

One is Director of Transportation for all of Cook County(of which Chicago is part of). A one billion dollar budget and overseeing 500+ employees....major stuff! A talented, experienced person with a civil or mechanical engineering background and with substantial management experience would be best suited. And, of course, integrity... We want to set a good example.

The second position--and why I'm posting on this village--is for the Chief Medical Examiner. It requires a Pathology or Forensic Medicine background. It's also a very influential and respected position. It carries a lot of weight with the Police dept.

If we can get a Muslim in either position, it would be great for the community. And it would be the beginning of building inroads into positions of power in local government. If you know of a candidate for either position that is talented, experienced, and has integrity, encourage them to apply. We already have a relationship with the top elected official and this person is open to considering someone from the Muslim community.
