Good Riding Stories
I hear so much about the dangers of riding. I get so tired of everyone telling me how dangerous it is to ride and blah blah blah... my question is... Does anyone have any GOOD riding stories? i.e: "I've been riding for 10 years and stayed safe and will do it forever", or "I love riding and have had many rider buddies to ride with and have stayed safe by... " etc?
I'm ready to hear the good and the great about riding!

Since i do live in cali, we get a lot of sun and i can ride nearly year round which i do. the good about riding is there is nothing like it and the social culture you shair with other riders is like a brotherhood.
Just keep it safe and dont get stupid and try to show off and you will ride for a long long time. but then again its not about how you go down its about when ur gonna go down.
keep draggen them knees peace out!
It must be nutts riding in TO. I have been riding for about a year and half and I also take my share of criticism...whatevah! I just bring up the fact that they are speaking about something of which they know nothing...
ride on sistah!...ride on!

The saying goes "you play, you pay"
Skiers injure their knees. Paramedics get into car accidents. And motorcyclists drop their bikes. Even if you are skilled and careful, it just goes with the territory.
Motorcycle riding is a fun and enjoyable pastime, but it has it's inherent risks. If you ride long enough you are very likely to drop a bike or have a crash at some point. It's a calculated risk, but one that I am willing to take because few things give me that sense of thrill and freedom I get when I am on my bike.
So my good story is this... As you know Gule, I crashed recently, had a concussion, fractured my hand, had surgery (now a week away from getting my pins out) and I say riding a motorcycle is still 100% worth it, and I will continue to ride.
All you can do is try to be safe. No one can control all the factors in the environment around them. But if you don't do what makes you happy you're already dead.
Cheers
This is a dangerous sport. But I absolutely love it. The point is, an accident is more likely then not. Just do what they taught you in MSF, be aware of your surroundings, and wear your gear. The rest is up to Allah.
just take it easy and everything will fall into place. During the winter pick up some of Keith Code's books "twist of the wrist". It will provide some more insight into riding during those days you can't go out and ride.
