good effort ... i was a long advocative of amulgmation but now i think that in every country and every ideology it just fails ...... then i came to learn an incident of prophet(saws) and from researching more on.... the best idea is to recognize what is common and focus on that and what is not common should also be recognized and respected..... unless it threatens the existence of dominant party .....thats why the so called european integration is never going to work.... ne wyas we are here to dicuss :)

i agree UK, Canada and USA are far ahead in freedom of religion then all other countries. i think there is a difference how people here in north america see muslim religion (i think) that here islam is taken as just as another religion which has some values and society limited to group of people what we call madhab..,,.however european society sees islam as deen as a system a real threat of a society and are seen as jews of today (again its just my view if you disagree give valid point)

On the islamic perspective, I would say that it is factual that Europe that Islam is under all form of scrutiny. Therefore Europe sees Islam as a threat.
I take the instance of France (where I was born). This country is home of 5-6 million Muslims and the largest European Muslim community. A great deal of Muslims are Immigrants from Algeria, Ivory Coast, Lebanon, Iran, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morrocco, Tunisia, Turkey, Kurdistan, Senegal....and other muslim countries.
Saddly, the scale of the social problems that affects French Muslims is beyond belief. A large number of Muslims are Children of immigrants of the second and third generation. What the French people search to do by all means it is to DESINTEGRATE those who are INTEGRATED. It is a huge challenge and struggle for many of our French brothers and sisters of Islam. Across the country they are living in appalling conditions and difficult situation.
There is an enormous contrast between the social's policy of France and the UK. UK is home to 2-3 million Muslims. Although in the UK, we have to deal with a number of social problems. However, our scale is smaller than the Frenchs. There is for ie a significant gap btwn the number of mosques. Both countries have more of less the same number of mosques: 1,635 - 1,685. In other word, I would say that the UK is a more tolerant country than France.
Social Policy and governmental regulations to build mosques are the thoughest and worse in European countries such as Italy, Belgium, Greece and the Netherlands.
So far Spain, is one of the rare European country, which is trying to minimize the social problems. They have recently increased their ties with the Madrid Muslim community through new iniatives such as introducing Arabic lessons in Madrid schools. In Madrid from north to south, the Arabic language and letters are booming in Spain and proliferating in newspapers, road signs and travel agencies. This is due to to the growing number of Arabs and Muslim immigrants in the southwestern European country. In addition, Spain has very recently signed a number of agreements in order to Increase its Trade with Algeria.
