From St Pancreas to Paris Gare du Nord
Va va voom ! This time, It is the Eurostar :)
While transport strikes gripped France, Britain?s rail chiefs were celebrating for once, the working debut of St Pancras International after a sweeping transformation from the fading Victorian relic into a swanky and a glizy London terminal.
The first train was named Tread Lightly, after Eurostar?s environmentally-friendly ?green? campaign aimed at cutting its carbon dioxide emissions by 25% by 2012.
High-speed rail travel between Britain and continental Europe zoomed into a new era on 14 Nov 07 as Eurostar trains began operating from the newly-renovated glitzy London hub.
The first Eurostar left St Pancras station for Paris du Nord on time shortly after 11:00 and arrived just before 13:15. Wow :) this is a much shorter journey:
Just 2 hours 15 comparing to the previous journey of 3 hours.
