Mysticism, love to God, nature and fellow human beings, are common in almost all cultures, religions and faiths. The sufi tradition exists in almost all territorries, religions, faits and cultures with little variations and focus. Sufis tradition in Islam actually came from Arabs but flourished mainly in Persia. In Sub-continent the tradition is also strong and can be seen all accross in the region. Sindhi, Punjabi, Bengali sufis are prominent and strong in their messages and influences. What is clear and universal in the Sufi tradition all accross is that Sufi, through creative expression, remembers and invokes the Divine order as it resides in a hidden state within all forms. To remember and to invoke, in this sense, are the same: to act on a form so that which is within may become known.

I would love to learn Farsi, we do have the Iranian Cultural Centre in Lahore but I guess I am too lazy to go there after work.

True love versus earthly love - though since - as some believe- we all have the aspect of divine within us - even earthly love (which would include love of friends, family etc and not just romantic love) can lead to True Love (Ishq a Haqiqi)

Love here means The CREATOR... Allah hai bas Piyaar hi Piyaar.... Heart without it will not reach to the heaven....

i think Rumi is talking about the love of ALLAH. secondarily its applies to love of human beings too.
