check cnet.com and dapreview.net for reviews. i'm not too familiar with pmp devices, but i believe archos is supposedly among the best... i think you can record video directly to the device as well, depending on the particular model.

it looks better than archos , i love its Wireless function, seems to be better than Archos 604 Wi Fi

I see these cables provided with Zune, i am wondering if Zune has the capability of recording from the TV or Cable or VCR into its harddrive www.zune.net
i am trying to look for info if it does

I bought the first mp3 player to hit the market years ago and it was by ARCHOS...at the time, they were the best. Don't know anymore...Apple came on the scene and wiped everyone out.
However, just cause apple has the lion's share of the mp3 market doesn't mean that they are the best product. They're not.
iRIVER and Microsoft Zune are worth a look.
