The Chand Mela is a continuation of a tradition from the Muslim community of the Indo Pakistan subcontinent. The festival is held the Eve before Eid. It is an opportunity for the community to mingle with their fellow countrymen, show cultural and religious solidarity and for people away from home, refresh their cultural ties. The theme of the event is family oriented fun. There are various entertainment and educational programs for children and adults. Some of the highlights are musical programs, refreshments, food, fashion show, free distribution of toys to children, etc.
