He had sinned and had been sinned against.
He had witnessed great evil and little good.
Hopeless despair threatened to overwhlem him.
He turned to the Lord of the Worlds and prayed:

"Beloved One of all You created!
Bless me with the patiance of Noah,
with the forbearance of Abraham.
Grant me the valour of David,
and the wisdom of Solomon.
Bestow upon me the strength of Moses,
inspire in me love such as Jesus,
and the mercy of Muhammad.

Open wide the doors of light,
Illuminate and enlighten my soul.
Forgive me my misdeeds,
endow my heart with forgiveness.
Respond to this my call!
You Alone are the Responsive."

His disquiet was replaced with peace,
As The Sustainer manifested HIS Grace.
