Days of Glory "Indigenes"
J'ai eu la chance de pouvoir regarder ce film :
Rachid Bouchareb's powerful pedagogical film chronicles the journey of four North African soldiers who join the French army to help liberate France from Nazi occupation during World War II. Re-creating a chapter largely erased from the pages of history, the film -- which got an Oscar nod for Best Foreign Language Film and won the 2006 Cannes Film Festival Best Actor award for its ensemble cast -- pays overdue tribute to the heroism of these forgotten troops.

anyway, i do feel related to this as far as my grand-father fight with the spanish army...ok he was not with frenchies but he helped the Spanish against Franco.
Anyway, I cried for approximately 6 hours after watching it (yes, even on the subway train, people were looking and stuff). I felt like it opened my eyes on France, on France that I did not know, did not study, on a totally different society. I think it is one France's best films of the past decade. It changes one's perspective of what is right and what is wrong and what true heroism is really all about.
