Daily Poem

www.bakewell-trees.org).jpg

I arrived once again, like the spring breeze;
I rose like the sun visible to all.
I am the Sun in mid-summer, contrary to the old season;
I have brought liveliness and joy to gardens.
A thousand ring doves are searching for me in their songs.
A thousand nightingales and parrots are flying in my directions.
The news of my arrival reached the fish in the sea;
The ferment of the sea created a thousand waves.

(Divan 1140:1-4)

Friday

by Tariq Ramadan
----------------------------------- ------------------------------

It came as if by chance.
Chance of my conscience,
Destiny of my heart.
One Friday. A beautiful story.

I was thinking of another thing,
The cave came to me;
And the impatience of men
Who seek, and seek the way

I smiled at the youth of the cave
Who slept, forever chosen;
For three hundred years, and more
In peace, peaceful and without sorrows.

Will remain, the direction, the secrets and the love;
Will remain, His face and His kindness;
Will remain, the Light and His beloved ones;
Will remain, to have passed, and to always remain.

They slept awake,
The Single One loved them
And my heart finally awakes
With the secrets this dream sowed.

I smiled at the chance
Destiny of my heart.
I smiled for having smiled
At the signs of the Hour.

Reply to his message: C'?tait Vendredi

Quelle beaut?, quelle douceur, quelle infinie tendresse...

It was Friday ...

Like an answered prayer

A veil lifted ... as if by chance.

Tears receive

That infinite tenderness. His love to us

Seeing through the heart.

Images accompany the quest.

To learn to love, always and over again

Letting the soul into the secrets of His Universal Heart.

The chance of the conscience,

The destiny of the heart ...

To go and remain and let the breath come ...

It came like that, as if by chance

One Friday. To let the heart

Into the Meaning ...

Into the Marvellous Unity

We are in Him throughout eternity.

I heard a thousand blended notes,
While in a grove I sate reclined,
In that sweet mood when pleasant thoughts
Bring sad thoughts to the mind.

To her fair works did Nature link
The human soul that through me ran;
And much it grieved my heart to think
What man has made of man.

Through primrose tufts, in that green bower,
The periwinkle trailed its wreaths;
And 'tis my faith that every flower
Enjoys the air it breathes.

The birds around me hopped and played,
Their thoughts I cannot measure:--
But the least motion which they made
It seemed a thrill of pleasure.

The budding twigs spread out their fan,
To catch the breezy air;
And I must think, do all I can,
That there was pleasure there.

If this belief from heaven be sent,
If such be Nature's holy plan,
Have I not reason to lament
What man has made of man?
