I remember I went to political gathering in Bannu once. Deputy speaker of Pukhtunkhua assembly was Shad Muhammad Khan, an educated gentleman in his 40s. Once the dool came out, he was out there is the middle with regular folks doing his thing.

Among tribal dances, the famous ones are Khattak, Waziri, Salman Khel etc.

It is really interesting that people of southern Pukhtunkhua are specially found of the dool (drum). Even today when Wazir and Mahsood tribesmen gather for jirga dool and attan is a must. Nobody stand in the way of this tradition, not even the Waziristani Taleban.

Now a days, most guys are gay, or the accepted metor sexual...what happen to chivalry....

other than attan, so pushtoons have any other cultural dances worth noting.

Talib women do attan i seen it so many times but just not as good as guys do...girls are usually more simple steps

As for Chaan Raat, i went to one chand raat in my whole life and there were tons of guys there....in karachi my sister said chaand raat is a huge even as all the bazaars are open till real late and ever one is out and about....

yeah khan women do attan....here in cali they have these afghan functions all the time and they either do it seperatly or guys and girls together.

I have never seen anyone do that head swinging motion--man that cool.

Is attan mostly a guys dance...i see women do it but never as good as the guys do...and of the million afghan weddeding i go to..they all finish with attan but never do it this good. I guess i have to go to the motherland to see the real deal.
