Sumina... now I FINALLY know about the recipe!! Hahaha... my brother got me this 500 cookie recipe book and one of the recipes is for the $250 Neiman Marcus cookie and all I thought was, this lady is nuts for paying this much for a recipe but it must be good if it made it in this book. So, I tried and it was ok. It calls for coffee grounds in the cookie and personally, I like my chocolate chip cookies sans coffee :-P The 2nd time I made it without the grounds... and I dunno... I'm questioning why on earth the Marcus people thought that recipe was worth so much?! Unless I didn't make it right of course ;)

I'd be more than happy to pass on the recipe if anyone wants :)

I came across this e-mail sent to me about a woman who was screwed over by Neiman Marcus and had to pay $250 for their cookie recipe.
It all came about when she ordered one of their cookies and found it so tasty that she asked the waitress if she can get the recipe. The waitress replied she could have the recipe for "two-fifty". And so the woman took it thinking it's "2 dollars and 50 cents. Month later she received a statement from NM and, much to her shock, stating that she owed them $250 for the "Cookie Recipe". She phoned them to sort out the mistake and they refused to budge. She asked for a refund which was also refused because she had already seen the recipe. She found it was futile fighting with the Goliath and so she decided to get even another way. She said she would forward the NM cookie recipe to cookie lovers all over the country and continent and the world and NM would never make a cent off the sale of their cookies.

Wow, kudos to the woman for coming up with an ingenious idea!
