Britain's rudest Cities revealed

Are you willing to give up your seat on the bus? Always remember to say please and thank you? Ever helped an old lady across the road? A new survey conducted by the supermarket Somerfield has revealed the identities of the UK?s rudest cities.
Somerfield?s poll questioned 1,510 adults spread across the UK?s major cities. Each city?s politeness index was derived from the survey respondents? answers to three key questions: punctuality; holding doors open for others; willingness to give up their seat on public transport.
The results of the survey are bad news for the residents of Liverpool and Birmingham. The 2008 City of Culture and England?s second city recorded the lowest politeness indexes in the survey and have been branded Britain?s rudest cities.
Both cities scored especially poorly when it came to chivalry, with only 62% of people surveyed willing to hold open doors for others. Liverpool, as well as London, also scored badly on punctuality with 24% of respondents admitting they considered it perfectly acceptable to arrive 15 minutes late for an appointment.
If you?re looking for the politest places in the UK, look no further than Glasgow and Sheffield. 99% of Glaswegians surveyed were willing to offer their seat to others while 88% of people in South Yorkshire?s Steel City claimed to always arrive on time for a social event.
