Bowl of Saki for December 31, 2006
PRAYER FOR THE NEW YEAR (Hazrat Inayat Khan)
O Thou,
who abidest in our hearts
most Merciful and Compassionate God
Lord of Heaven and earth,
We forgive others their trespasses
and ask Thy forgiveness of our
shortcomings.
We begin this New Year
with pure heart and
with clear conscience,
with courage and hope.
Help us to fulfill the purpose of our lives
under Thy Divine Guidance.
Amen

HAPPINESS LIES IN THINKING OR DOING THAT WHICH ONE CONSIDERS BEAUTIFUL.--Hazrat Inayat Khan
Commentary by Hazrat Samuel L. Lewis (Sufi Ahmed Murad Chisti):
Purest selfishness ends in unselfishness. The selfish person never entirely satisfies himself; when he does he satisfies others. This shows that all roads lead to God. Beauty is the desire of every soul and beauty is the essence of the Personality of God.
