Bowl of Saki for April 10

WHEN A MAN LOOKS AT THE OCEAN, HE CAN ONLY SEE THAT PART OF IT WHICH COMES WITHIN HIS RANGE OF VISION; SO IT IS WITH THE TRUTH.--Hazrat Inayat Khan

Commentary by Hazrat Samuel L. Lewis (Sufi Ahmed Murad Chisti):

Nevertheless it is possible for a man (or woman) to become one with the ocean through selfless concentration, and it is also possible that he/she becomes as one with Truth by selfless concentration.
That light which falls below the mind-mesh depends upon
personality's degree of awakening. To increase the light it is necessary to develop the personality, and for this there is a definite spiritual method, the chief point of which is the education of the heart, which is not so much an education but an increase in life's experience. The more one can imbibe of life itself, the more he/she can appreciate Truth, and when he/she reaches that stage when he/she feels at one with the whole stream of life, he/she is not far from the goal.
