Book Recommendations for a long trip?!
can someone please recommend a few books for me for a long trip?
If you are into poetry, get the conference of the Birds by Attar. It's soooo nicely written, make you wonder when the world lost its sensibility and romantic fiber.. LOL
Do not read A Thousand Acres - it is supposed to a best seller written by an English professor and made into a film with Jessica Lange, Michelle Pfiffer and Jennifer Jason-Leigh - I can't stand it.
I have dancing girls on my night stand. I read a few pages and can't seem to make myself pick it up again! but I've heard so much about it, I'll def. have to give it another go.:)
"Heroine of the Desert" by Donya al-Nahi... Gripping and powerful stuff - I read it last week in one sitting. It could be the light starter to your feast of books :)
hey great, thanks! I've gotten the same suggestions from multiple people so I should def. go with some of the suggestions from here. Kite runner was awesome, I read that... 20th wife, I've def. heard a lot about. I read (most of) Code - its a GREAT book - I just spoil it (books like it) by reading ahead a lot!
Effie & humanseasons: I've never heard of these ones, but I'm def. gonna check them out at B n' N today!
the Ipod idea - lol that'll def. be there... well my handy dandy little mp3 will for sure! it's an over 14 hrs long flight! it should be fun... I'm looking forward to actually. it'll be the only chance I'm going to get to relax for a long time!
some light reading.... something fun and interesting that'll be a quick and easy read, or atleast something intense that you cant put down. i have 14 hrs on a plane, and sleeping the entire way doesnt work for me ;)
some fun books i read were nanny diaries, bride of beveerly hills, some serious - quick reads were kite runner, child called it (very quick read - such a disturbing yet a must read book!)
