Body Fat Percentages

Anyone had their body fat taken? I had mine taken at 24 hr fitness using the calipers...where they squeeze your fat, etc...and then today I got it taken at another gym where they give you a device to hold and i guess it sends some sort of pulse through your body. Using this, mine was almost 8% lower than using calipers...any thoughts? I think the pulse thing is def more accurate, but who knows, lol

The digital scales I have measure body fat AND hydration, so it doesn't matter if you've had water recently. Water shouldn't effect the bodyfat, though sometimes if you drink a lot water you can be heavier overall.

If you're planning on weighing yourself regularly, the best thing is to weigh yourself at the same time of the day. I do it first thing in the morning before breakfast.

The calipers are not very accurate.

I dont know which is more accurate, but I think with the digital one, its better to use before your workout and when you dont have much water in your body at the time.

Also, you need to use it a few more times to verify the reading, like take it again everyday for say 3 days.

i've heard that the most accurate type involves being submerged underwater--i've never had mine taken though
