Bay Area Artists
I am wondering if there are any Muslim artists in this village, who want to set up an artists' salon.
I am interested in finding a group of artists who would like to share ideas about art, view, discuss and critique work in a safe, non-threatening, but intellectually and spiritually rigorous group.
As a Muslim and artist I am personally interested in exploring how a contemporary Islamic art might look like.
I look forward to hearing from you.

And freefall the museum idea is great.
I also do still believe that we need a space for display of art by Muslim artists - perhaps even a virtual display.
that said, I do believe that you can find some people off the Islamic Art village

Perhaps i should clarify. This salon is not an exhibition space nor an Islamic Art forum in the sense of traditional art or modern calligraphy. Rather I was hoping to find artists from a variety of disciplines who would be interested in looking at art made my Muslims, explicitly religious or not.
It would be more like a critique group in which people could share ideas about their work.
I am thinking about work like mona hatoum or shirin neshat for example.
The issue is mosque's is that they have board members who disagree on artistic expression.
In Fremont and other places, they have these specific days where people can go to the Artist studios - it's a lot of fun.
Also, there is a place in Fremont, and I am sure in other cities where they will rotate displays etc. You have contact the local Cultural Arts Council or org.

Yet I am considering moving down to South Bay, because of a new job that's keeping me down in that area. So I do not know how available I will be. Yet I am interested, and would like to be kept in the loop.
I am glad you asked. I happen to have a few amazing art pieces that I am fostering for lack of an appropriate exhibition space. Any ideas would be precious.
Thanks!
