Striking the right balance between secular and religious education, a new brand of Al-Azhar-supervised schools are thriving in Egypt and attracting many parents who want to instill basic Islamic values into their siblings.
This kind of schools is much overdue said Sociologist Ahmad Al-Magdoub.
Al-Magdoub said he is confident that the graduates of Azhar-style schools will leave their indelible marks on society and become a source of pride to their parents.
Schools such as "Al-Ghad El-Moshreq" and "Memphis" have taken the initiative and launched Azhar-style grades a few years ago to meet a growing demand from parents, who want to enroll their children at religious but secular schools in the meantime.
The number of these schools has risen to 20 in Cairo alone and average annual fees start at LE5, 000 and increase 10% every year.
