Saturday, Aug. 4,11,18 & 25, Sackler classroom
Spices attracted Portuguese merchants to Africa, India, and Asia, and they promised great fortune to those who brought them back to Europe. Weigh, grind, smell, taste, and burn a sample of spices, and then take them home in a little bag made of luxurious fabrics as a reminder of your profitable journey.
