The web page above is designed to give everyone an idea of what our universe actually looks like. There are nine main maps on the web page, each one approximately ten times the scale of the previous one. The first map shows the nearest stars and then the other maps slowly expand out until we have reached the scale of the entire visible universe.

Your welcome Runner_forever...I used to have a couple of giant-sized books on photos of the Universe as a kid...you are correct though, these are the most clear by far...I'm glad you enjoyed them...

YES! Thanks Runner, that was the one I was looking for imdb.com). The interactive one looked familiar until I realized I had a poster in my bedroom a few years back that had these kinds of pics in it. Thanks again for the imdb link.

Is the movie this one imdb.com)? An interactive Java tutorial micro.magnet.fsu.edu) has a similar illustration of the powers of 10 as the images progressively zoom in from the view of the Milky Way at 10 million light years from Earth all the way down to the constituents of a proton (quarks).

The human mind isn't designed to grasp and comprehend such vastness. Subhanallah. This actually reminds of a movie shown in Chemistry of the power of 10. Can't seem to find it, anyone know which movie I'm talking about?
