Arab Women & Outside Marriage
It should be more acceptable, and encouraged, for Arab women to marry outside of their respective community. Many Non-Arab Muslim men come in all shapes, sizes, cultures, colors, personalities, shoe size, hair-doos, with twisted and warped mental conditions, and anything else you can imagine.
My advice: Take a bite outside the cookie and see if you can find that soft mushy sweet spot somewhere else.

Umm...yeah Nouha, you kewl like me, since we can learn to agree.
Umm, let's see, I personally am for integrating cultures and such, but I do believe that it is easier for community/tribal peeps, like mine, to stay within our frameworks. I just wish more people would be courageous enough to venture outside the box.
I believe if more people did this, it would become easier to integrate with others.
ali - i mentioend before that the reason why i want to marry someone of the same culture is because i relate to them more, not cause of fear of venturing into the unknown, trust me ive ventured in.. didnt really like what i saw lol...
but again.. to each their own... there are happy intercultural couples out there and to say there isnt would be a big lie.... but there are also happy same culture couples :)
I, myself, believe in testing one's limits to see how far we can achieve an inter cultural/religious/ethnic community.
Broaden your horizons peeps.
In this tribal box we live in, many problems arise amongst couples, families, friends, that originate from our shared culture.
A shared culture doesn't necessarily make living easy it the culture has fundamental problems, which cause strains on daily life.
what i meant by what i said was that two ppl of the same culture are never gonna have marriage problems related to being of the same culture....
of course ppl of the same culture have problems, get divorced etc... but it wont be becuase they were of the same culture...
hope i made myself clear :)
Okay, you say every personal case of intercultural marriage you know has had problems. Well, I must insist, to say that every case of marriage I know, all of them, have had problems. A lot of them have made it through, while others have divorced.
Bottom line--it don't matter who you marry--what matters is how you carry--the marriage ;)
personally, EVERY single intercultural couple i noe, had lots of problems to get married, some had to get divorced becuase of the differences and some are still married, i want to reduce the risk of having this kind of problem so i choose to only marry those of my culture, not only because i think its easier, but because i relate to them better than others...
All depends on your partnership with that person. All couples are unique...this mean what is good for you...wont systematically be good for me and vice versa....Some partners get on well even if they are from different culture and country: I have many exples around me...even those who are from the same country and culture get probls too. More problematic marriage is in no case applicable to All couples.
and since i'm not goung to bother backing up my statements with references and whatnot, it's going to stay "may opinion against yours" unless you look up infor to support your opinon.
being of the same culture/religion isn't all you need for a happy marriage, but having a heterogenious coupling does lead to a more problematic one, on average.
True. In no cases we put down other people and their cultures. Islam condemns such approach and attitude. Each marriage is unique. This is what I explained earlier in my JE...whoever you marry...whatever is his culture...each of us has his/her own choice and we also have our own preferences...
A Marriage is successful when both partners have the same focus, goals, strive, motivation and determination to grow and prosper in an harmonious, long lasting, fruitful & loving relation. Both have to work hard to get good results and the fruits of their efforts.
Oh, and Plato---don't forget the milk.
