Angel of Death

In the quiet of our mind
we can feel the footsteps of Death
Izra'il brings the news that we dread

We can avoid his message
We ignore and busy ourselves
with the endless noise that consumes the world
If we don't listen
we believe we will be safe

But the Angel does not miss its mark
and the arrow hit us with such suprise

We fall
We cry
We beg
Another breath
We whisper to him

He responds:
It is not my decision
You are the wayward animal
that I have been ordered to return
to its Rightful Owner

There is a which says: 'Mutu kubla anta mutu', which means, Die before death. A poet says, 'Only he attains to the peace of the Lord who loses himself.' God said to Moses, 'No man shall see me and live.' To see God we must be non-existent.
