A few days before her demise, she told her husband that she had seen her deceased grandfather, an individual well known for his righteousness, in a dream. The learned sage indicated that the end of her worldly struggles was near, and a resting place in Paradise would soon be hers.
I have heard about this, people having dreams and not always understanding them, but then later when something happens, the meaning is realized.
No matter what we should be prepared, both in worldly and spiritual matters, for death. Worldy, to make it easier for those we leave behind, spiritually for us and for Allah.
Subhanallah just look at the lessons of this. This brother didn't know that he was going to die today, and he recited ayat about death in fajr salaat. This brother didn't know that he was going to die today, and he spoke about death in his khutba. This brother wanted to avoid harm by not letting his son drive, and he ended up dying. Subhanallah!
Its hard not to treat this like a hate crime.....how do you make sense of this. This crime has no connection to the previous one in the family--those people were my neighbors....and this happened only 5 minutes away from my house in a wealthy suburban neighborhood...and believe me it has many hijab wearing woman on the edge. This incident has cast a pal on the muslim and Afghan communtiy since it happened.
See this article about Aliya Ansari?a descendent of Abu Ayub Ansari.

the amazing thing about all of this is that many christians and jews have come forward and with out pouring support. So far they have a "person of interest"' who may have had some mental disorder but if you ask me, what triggered some man to go into one particular neighborhood, pulls up in from of this woman and shoots and shoot her.
"The slaying marks the second time someone in the victim's family has been shot and killed in Fremont. In January 2002, Afghan community leader Rahim Ansari, 34, of Union City was shot and killed inside his business, Pamir Travel, in Little Kabul.
The suspected gunman in that incident, upset over a spurned romance, also wounded Rahim Ansari's brother-in-law, Zabiullah Ansari, a second-cousin of Alia Ansari. In an interview Friday, Zabiullah Ansari, 48, expressed hope that the right person had been arrested. But he said, "They don't know what happened."

Perhaps it wasn't a hate crime but some other disgruntled guy with a chip on his shoulder? I don't think the Afghan community should jump to conclusions and start labeling a hate crime so quickly.
How come its not on the news, may be its not news worthy for CNN and Fox.
