2 Volunteer Positions


currently looking for volunteers to help assist with the following tasks by solicting the members of this listserv who have helped us in various ways over the incredible past 2.5 years ranging from initial brainstorming activities to planning of regional networking events:


1) Website Coordinator: Currently, the Board members are overwhelmed in trying to update the website and recently our website, amhp.us was revamped after hectic around the clock revisions:
A) Qualifications: Creativity, desire to implement good design principles in bringing meaning to our website to the public. Web/IT experience is not needed but is a plus.
B) Tasks: The key task is to envision what changes should go on our website and find ways to make it more userfriendly. You will be working with our awesome AMHP Board and website gurus who will implement the changes. By working as a team, this volunteer will provide periodic (quarterly) "Executive Summary of Grammer of Website Ornamental Design" or in other words a task-list of action items the website gurus can implement the changes. Occassionally, if something needs to be uploaded in a timely manner, this volunteer will be in contact with us.
C) Training: Will provide and guide you as everything that we are in the same page learning as we go :)
D) Estimated Time Commitment: 2 to 4 hours/week or flexible based on volunteers' schedule.
E) Why: Improvement of Website using Quality by Design Principles
F) Professional Development Skills Volunteer Will Acquire: Creativity, Technology Management, Project Management, TeamBuilding

2) Grants Researcher


A) Qualifications: The A to Z know-how of Googling through a dearth of online resources and/or reference books related to applying for grants, recommendations, grants management, etc
B) Tasks: This volunteer will greatly assist our 2.5 year old organization in learning the intricate aspects of grants management. In addition, they would provide a useful guidance document summary and powerpoint presentation to the AMHP Board for implementation in future projects and education of all the AMHP Board members.
C) Training: Experience of any research-related endeavor is sufficient and intricate knowledge of non-profit grants management principles is a plus
D) Final Product: Guidance document summary of recommendations and powerpoint presentation to the AMHP Board
E) Deadline: Our next Strategic planning retreat in February 2007, Insh'Allah at University of Michigan-Ann Arbor Campus with Free Food and Great Company
F) Time Commitment: 2 hrs/week and flexible
G) Professional Development Skills Volunteer Will Acquire: Problem Solving, Project Management, Strategic Thinking, Continual Learning
