has added a new journalNow, I don't know the answer to this one. That's why I thought I'd ask here. What is the sunnah for holding the Qur'an during sujood? Specifically, if you are reading from the Qur'an during qiyaam, what do you do or where do you place it when you go for sujood? As always, please provide references. Thanks.

Assalamualikum'I have never learnt about holding Quran while praying. If you are revert to Islam I believe it is correct to learn at least one long verse (ayah) or three small verses minimum and use this to pray in salaah. Reading from Quran while performing salaah is something new to me, is this confirmed and by whom. What my suggestion to u to do is from, "Nurul-Idha wa Najaatul-Arwah" by Imam Shurunbullali (Hanafi Fiqh).
and its says under the chapter of "Stipulations for the validity of a ritual prayer and its pillars"
THAT - Read the Quran even though it is a single, small verse consisting of only two words. Which means memorizing these.
and he says that the required acts includes that you must read surah Fatiha and any other sura and at least three small verses in the first two rak'as of those 'obligatory' ritual prayers which consist of more than two rak'as and in all rak'as of the Odd prayer and supererogatory ritual prayers.
Unlike read from the Quran?!?!
Anyway, actions are judged according to intentions. Allah knows best.

as-salaamu alaykum ukhti, that is what i've been doing. but i've also heard people say that you may place it on the qur'an holder when you go for sujood. the quest for an answer continues....

I have no clue. Personally, if I pray with the quran in my hand ( which is only during tahajjud), I don't put it down. I use a very small quran and hold it when I go down. That way, i don't lose my spot and it does not touch the ground.Peace

Depends. If I'm not mistaken, Allah's Messenger (PBUH) was seen urinating while standing in one instance.
It is Makrooh (disliked), however, not Haram!
One may only do it if one is certain that splashes of urine will not touch his clothes. However, it is better to sit down and this is recommended.
aouichab
the hadith is the following Itsfahad20 :Urine on your clothes will bring punishment from God.
Mohammed said, "The deceased person is being tortured in the grave not for a great thing to avoid, it is for being soiled with his urine. " Vol. 2:460
itsfahad20
no because they are in danger of dirtying themselves from the drops of urine... I think there's a hadith about strict grave punishment for the one...Login to find out
