I too have been displaying my stuff in local galeries, and some of my metal art is outdoors - like a burn-barrell I carved for BM '05 with the dua of Sulaiman (AS) on it: Rabbi Zidni Ilma - in arabi. It is presently located within the bowels of The Vulcan in Oakland.I'm pointing this comment towards my friend Serene4Ever, who's been telling me about a Muslim Artist exhibition event that's being planned by some Fremont org in July. S4E yaar, can you please comment and give us some info about this? (Or would you like me to post the info you sent me?-)

Checking to see if any peeps had a chance to check out Zaha Hidid exhibition in Guggenheim in NY? If living in NY, I would highly recommend checking out the exhibit. Her exhibition runs from June 3-October 25, 2006. Her rendering and presentation style is amazing?.. almost can be consider work of art. She is consider one of top most avant-garde architects today.
Brief bio for those who might not be familiar with her work. Laureate of the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize marking the first time a woman has been named for this 26 year old award. Her style falls into deconstructive architecture. Born in Baghdad, Iraq, she received a degree in mathematics from the American University of Beirut before moving to study at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London. After graduating she worked with her former teacher, Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas at the Office for Metropolitan Architecture, becoming a partner in 1977. In 1980 she established her own London-based practice. During the 1980s she also taught at the Architectural Association.
