Silos Of the Intellect

By Brainsyke

There is a world we are born into; there is a world we are raised in, then there is a world we operate in, and then there is a world we transcend into for eternity.

The world we are born is the natural earth with the ground beneath, the skies above, the seasons, the weathers, the mountains, the rivers, the emotions, the sensations, the hunger, the relationships, the plants, fruits, foods, animals and cosmic wonders. All these things coexisting harmoniously, intravenously and seemingly spontaneously in fixed nature.

In the first five years of life we marvel at this world and want to bite and touch everything we see. We grow eventually into the world we are being raised in. This is the world characterized by national border, political environment, social and economic attitudes and behaviors. We begin to embody identities transferred under such environments in the form of language, culture, religious beliefs, and social class identity. We figure this to be the world of adults wherein we are eager to observe, and impersonate roles and assume adult identities. Much of our lives in this phase is spent within the four walls of our home environment, or neighborhood environment, or school environment. Our frame of mind shrinks to the confines of the world that makes up our social environments. We become limited in our excursions into the natural world through TV and books.

Finally, upon reaching adulthood, we graduate to our operating worlds by substituting social environments. School is replaced by business environment in a specific industry at a specific job function. The natural world becomes an annual or biannual excursion. But more than often, the natural world becomes only an excuse to experience a neighboring social set up as a tourist. During this time our lives, and our intellect remains governed by laws, and norms instituted by corporate policies, national legislature, national holidays, gadgetry, and customary laws. Our conscious lives remain in tune with this man-made framework of a world self constructed in a way that disengages with the spontaneous, perpetuating, harmonious framework that embodies it.

Our claim to highest intellect rests on commentary at this "adult world" with little demonstrated ability to interpret the world we were originally born into.

helplessness in terms of humility, and acceptance of inherent uncertainties as a sign of wisdom, and control to lift the veils between the silos through a process of unlearning ;)

Interesting and thought provoking! Sounds like someone took a step back, took some time to reflect and think about the bigger picture. What I'm trying to figure out is, if I am sensing an overall acceptance or lack of control/helplessness?

And there is a world we create, and that is our world.
