Signs and symptoms of cervical spondylosis
By wezisereCervical is the medical term for the neck of a given body. Moreover, spondylosis is a term used to refer to the degeneration of the joints between the adjacent vertebrae. When combined together, cervical spondylosis simply means abnormal wear of the joints of the spine of the neck caused by the pressure of old age or consequential. However, their effects are not simple. The joints between adjacent vertebrae degenerate narrowing and compression of the nerve roots of the spine and can lead to problems or changes in motor skills. Cervical spondylosis is also called neck arthritis, cervical arthritis and chronic neck pain.
Signs and symptoms of cervical spondylosis can include:
- chronic pain and stiffness in the neck (which may spread to the arms or shoulder),
- increasing the risk of other injuries to the neck,
- loss of sensation, numbness, weakness or clumsiness of the shoulders, arms, hands, legs or fingers,
- shooting pain in the neck, arms, shoulders or upper back due to pressure on the nerve roots,
loss of balance,
double
- irritability and fatigue,
- loss of bladder control,
- disturbed sleep,
- ringing in the ears,
- headache, especially in the back of the head,
- difficulty walking, and
- afraid of falling.
Usually cervical spondylosis have no symptoms in the early stages. In addition, the most common causes are found in populations over 60 years of age. But when it gets worse, stiffness and pain in the neck area and often feel constantly. This pain is caused by thinning of joints between the vertebrae in the neck area. And because the nerves in these areas are pinched and compressed, impaired motor skills as off balance, poor coordination, and difficulty walking can be experienced. This phenomenon is also known as cervical spondylotic myelopathy.
If you feel the above symptoms (any of paresthesias, symptoms of myelopathy, radiculopathy or radicular pain and suboccipital) and gut or loses bladder control, consult your doctor immediately.
