The Suffering of Uncertainty

By suprastarr

You were everything that I wanted in a girl,
For two years you were my at the center of my world.

I don’t know where everything went wrong,
It may have been short for you but for me it was ever long.

An eternity that passed with the blink of an eye,
I’ve never been so low, and I never got so high.

I was so certain that this love would endure,
Looking back, I wonder how could I have ever been so sure.

It just goes to show that in essence we really don’t know,
What you have today, you can’t be certain you’ll have tomorrow.

My heart feels like its so lost,
I guess when you love, this is the cost.

To have an emptiness that’s filled with pain,
The anger I feel when I hear your last words echoing in my brain.

The bruised ego, battered, shattered, and stained,
The weight of those memories stuck in me, ingrained.

Even though I know you never gave yourself to me,
Still, you were the only one with whom I wanted to be.

I was so certain that this love would endure,
Looking back, I wonder how could I have ever been so sure.

It just goes to show that in essence we really don’t know,
What you have today, you can’t be certain you’ll have tomorrow.

You didn’t even want to hear all that I would say,
Maybe you might have seen things my way.

Nay, you were too quick to run away,
Forcing the curtains to draw before the final scene of the play.

I was so certain that this love would endure,
Looking back, I wonder how could I have ever been so sure.

It just goes to show that in essence we really don’t know,
What you have today, you can’t be certain you’ll have tomorrow.

The certain uncertainty would have been cool.

The poet had certainty in his thoughts but what he got in return was all uncertainity, so the title may be "Certainity-Uncertainity", nice try

poignant, sad, gloomy ,but that's what life is all about "having and losing" .losing the one you love is sad and painful, nobody likes it.But since its a reality we have to take it with a pinch of salt.We got this fine poem because of a heart breaker, keep writing chief!!
