Is it OK to have Ethnic pride or Superiority complex?

I have noticed many comments on Facebook today praising AFRIDI and his outstanding performance.
" I am Proud to be Pathan" "Only Pathan can save the match" "I SALUTE U PaTHAN, U MADE ME A PROUD PATHAN"
and similar comments.
I don't know about India or any other country , but i have found this phenomenon wide spread in Pakistan. I remember one show on TV where some guy was "Proud" to be a Baloch..
WHY people have to take pride in their ethnicity? i mean it's not their choice that they were born into pathan, punjabi , baloch, mahajir or sindhi and so forth?
Shouldn't there be a Pride for being a just a "Pakistani"?
what makes one ethnicity superior over others? I came across another low life on this site, where he was constantly praising himself for being a "Pathan", but i failed to understand where does that false pride come from? Is this they learn from parents? what is it?
I remember long time ago some guy on this site said that Pathan was a superior race and they can't be considered "DESI", because they are not from Indian sub continent.
I'd like to get some honest comments and not just politically correct.
What makes one ethnicity superior over others? shouldn't a person be judged based on his individual characteristics rather than his ethnicity?
I have never seen in America where Texan has supremacy over New Yorker, or Vice versa...

Shizzle, to make things easier for you, I hardly go to any restaurant even if they serve food for free.
