Friendships that are stale...

By Appleofmylife

Indeed we all have had a friend or two who was always needing or borrowing something or asking you for endless favors. It does get old after a while and then you think to yourself, "why am I doing this again?" Well you feel better by helping others and if you have the resources so why not share right? Yeah it is all fine if you can afford it but more importantly if the person you are helping is appreciative. Nothing irritates me more that people who expect you to help them but don't hold a regard for your effort or thought after the fact. After careful consideration about a friend and relative that comes to my mind whilst pondering on the issue at hand, I have come to the conclusion that doing favors for friends occasionally is alright if you are sensible. However if you feel yourself doubting whether or not you should become a participant in the favors asked by others consider thinking it over rather than trying to aimlessly adhering to the urgency of foolishness. Sometimes even a good friend can impose themselves effortlessly and this does not make their issues more important then your own responsibilities and obligations. Might I suggest that perhaps you might consider whether or not what you are trying to do for others that always try to impose you may actually be not helpful at all rather aiding in their damnation. Sometimes allowing people to stand alone will make them stronger and more capable. If a friendships seems like you are always giving or you are always taking you may want to try news ways to participated in the relationship. It is not a balanced friendship when it is one sided it should be reciprocated. Just saying.

Doing favors or helping someone should be selfless. Help someone because you can, not because you want to be thanked/appreciated.

Of course do it within your means. But if a so called "friend" is always calling out on you for support and not there when you need them, then you need to reevaluate this relationship.
