Endure! by Nasir Kazmi

By Sal_alvi

O wayfarer of the waste of sorrow, endure!
The caravans separated will meet tomorrow. Endure!

No sign guides the journey. Yet, there is the whole night to go.
A voice flows in every moment … Endure!

Your cry will resound through the Earth and the Sky.
Suffer through the wrongs… for some more time… endure!

Your feet will rouse the musk-cities of ruined hearts.
O broken gazelle in shelter, endure!

The cities have been ravaged but the land of God is open.
We will make a new home yet. Endure!

These imperial palaces are waiting for destruction.
Their flags will eventually fall. Endure!

Line after line, the leaves and the trees will play their tambourines.
This dry earth will yield moist. Endure!

From caravan to caravan fields will be blossoming.
Gracious clouds will rain tremendously. Endure!

Why strike your head upon the rock? Grieve with manner.
Let your heart transcend the pain. Emerge an icon.
Endure!

The ghazal shall unveil as the lotus of my heart unfurls.
A few moments, o the press of my nib, endure!

Lips will break their silence as pain strikes the right chord.
Our tale must wait expression until then. Endure!

Nasir, there is none truly faithful in the cunning world.
Forget the words and vows that beguiler made. Endure

thanks broken-wings, my ignorance showing up as i thought the person/quthor of the journal had written this poem themselves :) As such, i felt it was a very good, deep personal creative writing piece.

Nasir Kazmi was an Urdu Poet, the original in Urdu is:-----

Rah navard E bayabaan E gham, sabr kar sabr kar
Kaarvaan phir mileNge baham, sabr kar sabr kar

Be nishan hai safar, raat saari paRi hai magar
Aa rahi hai sadaa dam ba dam, sabr kar sabr kar

Teri faryaad gooNjegi dharti se aakaash tak
Koi din aur sah le sitam, sabr kar sabr kar

Tere QadmoN se jaageNge ujRe diloN k khutan
Paa shikastaa Ghazaal E heram, sabr kar sabr kar

Shahr ujRe to kya!! hai kushaada zameen E khuda
Ek naya ghar basaayeNge hum, sabr kar sabr kar

Yeh mahallat E shaahi tabaahi k haiN muntazair
Girne waale haiN in ke alam, sabr kar sabr kar

Daf bajaayeNge barg O shajar saf ba saf, har taraf
Khushk mitti se phootega nam, sabr kar sabr kar

LahlahaayeNgi phir khhetiyaaN, kaarvaN kaarvaaN
Khul ke barsega abr E karam, sabr kar sabr kar

Dard ke taar milne to de, hoNt hilne to de
Saari baateN kareNge raQam, sabr kar sabr kar

Dekh ‘Nasir’ zamaane meN koi kisi ka nahiN
Bhool jaa us ke Qaul O Qasam, sabr kar sabr kar
