13Things Mentally Strong People Dont Do
By whoz-yo-daddyMentally strong people have healthy habits. They manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in ways that set them up for success in life. Check out these things that mentally strong people don’t do so that you too can become more mentally strong.
1. They Don’t Waste Time Feeling Sorry for Themselves
Mentally strong people don’t sit around feeling sorry about their circumstances or how others have treated them. Instead, they take responsibility for their role in life and understand that life isn’t always easy or fair.
2. They Don’t Give Away Their Power
They don’t allow others to control them, and they don’t give someone else power over them. They don’t say things like, “My boss makes me feel bad,” because they understand that they are in control over their own emotions and they have a choice in how they respond.
3. They Don’t Shy Away from Change
Mentally strong people don’t try to avoid change. Instead, they welcome positive change and are willing to be flexible. They understand that change is inevitable and believe in their abilities to adapt.
4. They Don’t Waste Energy on Things They Can’t Control
You won’t hear a mentally strong person complaining over lost luggage or traffic jams. Instead, they focus on what they can control in their lives. They recognize that sometimes, the only thing they can control is their attitude.
5. They Don’t Worry About Pleasing Everyone
Mentally strong people recognize that they don’t need to please everyone all the time. They’re not afraid to say no or speak up when necessary. They strive to be kind and fair, but can handle other people being upset if they didn’t make them happy.
6. They Don’t Fear Taking Calculated Risks
They don’t take reckless or foolish risks, but don’t mind taking calculated risks. Mentally strong people spend time weighing the risks and benefits before making a big decision, and they’re fully informed of the potential downsides before they take action.
7. They Don’t Dwell on the Past
Mentally strong people don’t waste time dwelling on the past and wishing things could be different. They acknowledge their past and can say what they’ve learned from it. However, they don’t constantly relive bad experiences or fantasize about the glory days. Instead, they live for the present and plan for the future.
8. They Don’t Make the Same Mistakes Over and Over
Mentally strong people accept responsibility for their behavior and learn from their past mistakes. As a result, they don’t keep repeating those mistakes over and over. Instead, they move on and make better decisions in the future.
9. They Don’t Resent Other People’s Success
Mentally strong people can appreciate and celebrate other people’s success in life. They don’t grow jealous or feel cheated when others surpass them. Instead, they recognize that success comes with hard work, and they are willing to work hard for their own chance at success.
10. They Don’t Give Up After the First Failure
Mentally strong people don’t view failure as a reason to give up. Instead, they use failure as an opportunity to grow and improve. They are willing to keep trying until they get it right.
11. They Don’t Fear Alone Time
Mentally strong people can tolerate being alone and they don’t fear silence. They aren’t afraid to be alone with their thoughts and they can use downtime to be productive. They enjoy their own company and aren’t dependent on others for companionship and entertainment all the time but instead can be happy alone.
12. They Don’t Feel the World Owes Them Anything
Mentally strong people don’t feel entitled to things in life. They weren’t born with a mentality that others would take care of them or that the world must give them something. Instead, they look for opportunities based on their own merits.
13. They Don’t Expect Immediate Results
Whether they are working on improving their health or getting a new business off the ground, mentally strong people don’t expect immediate results. Instead, they apply their skills and time to the best of their ability and understand that real change takes time.

oh well, I w8nt engage with him
and maybe not so much a matter of doubting but possible taking negative connotations out of something i might note /state
hmm....at christian spirit though.....!!
shame you werent part of naseeb in early days.....there wasnt much controversy as such , although some every so often lol, but there was many an interesting discussion /debate /banter etc ..as i am sure WuD will recall too lol, in those days ...there journals by the dozen every day by different people , different topics/themes and plenty of healthy chit chat via them etc :) so yes it can be fun to discuss/debate , agreeing to disagree etc
How can you ever imagine i would doubt you?i think my behavior all along has been very clear. You know what i haven't consumed any liquor since that fateful incident with BW.
You know what i have reached the conclusion that naseeb does need some kind of controversey to keep things going, but the rules of engagement need to be changed. Its fun to debate a thing with intelligent people like you, god,BW etc etc.
oh that much heat ....khair..you have a clear and great goal...so InshAllah, that will be successful.
it is good to get different takes etc going ....as we all learn from each other too
it is this type of discourse that actually helps all in one way or another, as we take different views, ideas etc from it and as such we evolve as do our thoughts ...
i apologise if you felt i came across as negative or saying you were wrong...but was just having intellectual discourse /discussion
In childhood everybody makes a world of their own with its do's and donts,we all have hero's and our own ideas about being heroic. We all want to win and always try to paint our enemy black. But once we achieve adulthood its better to get outof fairy tales and fantasies.
All of us have some kind of an affect on each others lives,i am a very secular kind of a guy but after having debates with god for some strange reason i am getting convinced about religion. My point being all the interaction on naseeb can make a big difference in our lives.I think we should always feel free to disagree with each other,an honest debate can sometimes clear-up the vision for anyone.
I am not scared of it any more, because i have taken tremendous amount of pounding on naseeb, and if even now some one wants to bludgeon me i will gladly receive it.In my case i am always more than willing for anyone to play the devils advocate against whatever i say ,when ever i am making a thesis statement. This spirit of dialogue has to be revived without fear of favour .Somedays back we had a big fight and sadly it stifled the sight because of a few members who are disgruntled because of me,i dont feel good about it.
I must say that i envy wyd for having a friend like god,who is a person steeped in religion ,and has always disseminated the message of rab-ullalimeen. I think gods influence on wyd's thinking and his life has played a very important part in the formation of wyd's character and his preeminence on naseeb. Its amazing being such a young fellow gods command of the scripture and hadith can give any allama a run for his money.
The formation of the overall personality of an individual is a very complex process,no one is born with a typical mindset, its conditioning which plays a bigger role in this than genetics.BUT as GOD would have said takwa is the biggest positive trait of a good muslim.Physical dexterity ,virility, fortunes, dont play any roles in this.
The biggest flaw in the american psyche is to give a very tough image of themselves when dealing with the other nationalities, its totally stupid and all wrong.May be for a nation state it can work, but on a individual scale its bound to fail.Ganging up on people and spreading rumours about a complete stranger is all too wrong and in bad taste.
Our tough talking on cyberspace ,our journals can make a good guy look bad for a moment but a few days later people can form their own opinions about things.
Hahaha! Yes, Chiraag my mouth was indeed wide open as depicted in that smiley
"no offense intended to wyd,who is pretty much the "naseeb boss""
Yes, Billu, you got that right! ;)
tommorow morning is my flight and i just checked the temperature in Jeddah, it's in 90's .. OMG... i will melt... :(
i dont think the intention is to take any of those points literally ie in sense of 100% ..eg point 1...ofc one can and does occasionally feel sorry for themselves etc...as we are human and yes have emotions etc. Key here is , in my opinion,, that it is very easy to make the feeling sorry of oneself the norm , let it subsume them etc...I do believe that was the key message and point there.
I certainly took all of the points with realism and understanding too that we as humans are fundamentally flawed ...ie different strengths and weaknesses...it is all about seeking and seeing and acknowledging and then acting in a positive way ie harnessing the guidance /advice /experiences etc and yes as a result also mentally strengthening ourselves which also leads to internal strength..
anyways...it is also all about adaptation...learning to live with and yes have strength beit physical, mental , spiritual to whatever situations or circumstances we find ourselves in. That is also about capability to handle change in a positive way . Yes, it does take an internal, mental etc strength to be alone beit with thoughts etc. That does not mean alone 100% of time or life :) but many spiral into depression when they are dealt with larger proportion of time in their own company .
so many points..i amnt going to go into each one loll am sure WuD would be like :O anyway....but am sure you nauroz get my perspective or where i am coming from :)
the past can btw dictate or influence your actions in a positive way ..after all it is past experiences that help us to learn , develop etc :)
1]If you are human, then you have emotions and can feel sorry.
2]The thing about control is funny, life isan't about being seen in control all the time.
3]point three makes sense and doesn't conflict with the rest.
4]Again control takes over, anywhere or everywhere something control's something, its not worth worrying about.
5]whats wrong with the idea of being loved rather than being feared.
6]well the one about calculated risks is ok,although alpha's don't calculate.
7]whether you dwell on it or not, your past pretty much dictates your future actions.
8]Its good if we could learn from history, but we don't.
9]So msp's don't have jealousy or envy, that's again conflicting cause they are fiercely competitive and want t have the biggest pile.
10]Applies to everyone, not to give up trying, that's correct.
11]Strong or weak we are social animals, nobody likes to be alone.Isolation and alienation gets to all of us,but we manage.
12]The world doesn't owe us ,well that's realistic.
13]MSP's are patient,they don't expect instant results,conceded.
After reading the whole list my perspectives on WYD's thinking have become a lot more clearer, all the things that he values as the characteristics of strong men basically stems from his own unique experiences and thinking and its ok.There are a lot of things in human life that are not quantifiable, because there are no hard and fast rules, too many gray area's.
Life is a journey as " chiragh "has often said, what you might see as a universal truth today, might become a joke for you, a few years down the road. All the talk about power, strength, physical prowess, virility, intellect, sinecure s have got nothing to do with mental strength. Our desires for the world to see us in a awe-stricken way is a childish perspective on life.Tough guys dance and cry too.
All the ideas above are mine and can be incorrect, because i am not a mentally strong guy,no offense intended to wyd,who is pretty much the "naseeb boss"
Sorry for writing a bit again loll,,,,but you know me :P and i hope you don't mind.
